Having won two of the three rounds held before the final showdown in Lyon — the championship was shortened due to the cancellation of two events — Desprey entered Saturday night with a comfortable 19-point lead over Anthony Bourdon.
After a foruth place on Friday behind Aranda, Bourdon, and Tixier, the championship leader delivered a strong performance in the final main event, securing third place, which was more than enough to claim the title.
Jordi Tixier won the Saturday Final followed by his GSM Yamaha´s teammates Greg Aranda and Maxime Desprey.
