Nine-time World Champion Antonio Cairoli will lead Team Italy at the 78th edition of the Motocross of Nations in Ironman, set for October 4-5.
Cairoli is set for his 13th appearance at the prestigious event, two decades after making his debut at Matterley Basin in 2006. The Italian legend returns to the Motocross of Nations following the injury of Alberto Forato (knee) and ongoing physical issues for Mattia Guadagnini.
This season, Cairoli has already lined up in selected MXGP and AMA Pro Motocross rounds aboard the Ducati Desmo450MX, and now he’ll step back onto the world stage for Team Italy.
Cairoli will contest the MXGP class, with Andrea Bonacorsi (Fantic) filling the OPEN slot, while Andrea Adamo (Red Bull KTM) will represent the squad in MX2.
